Website Redesign - A Fan-First Experience

I approached the UFC redesign with one clear intention: improve the fan experience. The previous site felt confusing and outdated, with sections poorly defined and a layout that created friction.

I applied Gestalt principles to structure the interface so elements that belong together feel naturally grouped. I also established consistent button styles across the site, making interactions more intuitive. The hero section became a centerpiece, combining bold graphics, striking fighter images, and clear calls to action, helping fans immediately see when and how to watch upcoming fights.

To enhance usability, I focused on a clean and intuitive UI, consistent typography, and strategic use of color to separate sections. By leveraging the Aesthetic–Usability Effect, I ensured the site not only looked modern but also felt easier to navigate.

This project reflects how I use design systems and UX laws to solve real problems: reducing friction, improving clarity, and ultimately driving engagement. The result is a website that delivers on its purpose, serving the fans who are at the heart of UFC.

Applied UX laws and best practices

Gestalt Principles – group related elements so the layout feels natural and organized.

Aesthetic–Usability Effect – attractive designs are perceived as easier to use.

Jakob’s Law – users expect familiar patterns, so consistency reduces confusion.

Fitts’s Law – larger and closer targets are faster and easier to click.

Hick’s Law – fewer choices lead to faster decision-making.

Law of Proximity – items placed close together are seen as related.

Accessibility – clear layouts, good contrast, and reduced cognitive load ensure everyone can use the site.
